A Real Opportunity
We
all like to pray, to talk with God as we do with friends – as St. Teresa
described prayer.
But sometimes He seems so far away, almost inaccessible, hidden.
We can loose heart and just say the minimum: a quickie in the morning,
a few words before meals or starting a long journey.
A desperate plea for help at hearing of a sad occurrence that effects
us, a drifting off to sleep with “polite meaningless words”, mumbo jumbo
that God cannot make sense of!!!
Here
now is an opportunity, during this week of prayer in the parish (organised by
the Sisters in Marsh Road) to be helped by a guide for half an hour a day –
not much is it?
That should give us a fresh impetus to become more proficient at this
essential exercise.
After all, we get help with most or our other exercises.
Now we can get help with one spiritual exercise:
prayer.
The week is meant to facilitate us in making God – or making us aware
of God – walking with us through each day on our pilgrimage of life – in
Luton or wherever we are.
Fr Tom Click on the above for a pleasant trip.
