Vincentian vocation

A Calling.......

To serve God by tending to those in need.

To grow in the love of God and to help each other do so.

To bring love to those we serve.

To bring the Christian way of life into the community.

Not to evangelise.

Vision

We are an international lay Society whose mission is to bear witness to Christ's' love and to put His teachings into practice, following the example of Saint Vincent de Paul and the Venerable Frederick Ozanam.

With mutual support, friendship and encouragement, we continually endeavor to find ways to reach out and extend our commitment through person -to -person care for those disadvantaged, neglected or in need.

We seek also to build the Kingdom of God in this world, working to alleviate the causes of need and to foster justice and peace, with love as our guiding principle.

In these ways we aim to develop spiritually, strengthening our own faith and deepening our love of God and our neighbour.

Objectives

To draw nearer to Christ.

To help the needy.

To organise effectively.

To develop the growth of person -to -person care through a network of charity promoted both from within and without the Society.

Values

To  Love God

To love my neighbour as myself.

To deepen and strengthen the faith of our members (spirituality)

To act in true humility.

To be non-judgmental.

To support each other through mutual friendship and encouragement.

To respect the dignity of the individual.

To seek justice.

To serve the poor

To have person -to -person contact with those in need.

To be generous with our time, our possessions, and ourselves.

"As long as charity, humility and simplicity exists among you one might say the Company of Charity is still alive, but when these virtues are no longer seen, then, one might say , the poor company of Charity is dead."

(St. Vincent de Paul)
